They drink a tremendous amount of alcohol on the show. Perfect. I make tremendous cocktails on this blog. Plus, the program has made a lot of people curious about Classic cocktail recipes. It’s a huge thing on the internet.
Drinks like Old-Fashioned,’ and ‘Gin-Fizz,’ are being searched pretty heavily in the cocktails category, according to Google Insights. “Joan,” who is portrayed by Christina Hendricks, is stacked in the top position for just about any Mad Men term you feed to GI. She ordered a Gin Fizz in a recent episode, and it made me thirsty for one. I started researching the cocktail, starting with the best resources I know of on the internet, Alcademics, and The Modern Mixologist.
Becoming a regular watcher of Mad Men was the only thing I could do without getting thumped in the head, or regarded as a plain idiot, by Dax Pagan, who is a huge fan of all media, and an Uber Mad Men geek. He brought his entire collection of Mad Men season’s on DVD over one day, and they sat on my shelf collecting dust for a year.
Once I started watching Mad Men I was hooked, Sopranos hooked, after the 4th episode, and I made it my business to quickly get up to speed. I watched every Mad Men episode of every Mad Men season available on DVD in eight days. Consequently, my wife is even a bigger fan of Mad Men than I am. She’s into it big this season. She has had to watch it all by herself. She doesn’t mind too much. However, we loved to talk about Mad Men and she’d been dying to tell me what’s going on.
She held out a good five episodes, but she was about to burst one night, so I was like, “Out with it, already.” When she told me the biggest surprise of the current Mad Men season, I had to make time to see what happened to January Jones, who plays the Stepfordesque, knock-out blonde, ‘Betty.’ The very cruel writers of Mad Men put little Betty in a fat-suit. She’s unhappy these days and has decided to eat her problems, and her Perfect figure, away. :( I couldn’t have prepared myself for something so tragic and devastating. This is worse than when Bobby Bacala got whacked.

Mad Men has a lot of reasons to be watched, but it could be thirteen hours of Christina Hendrick’s watering her plants, and it would still be better than most stuff on TV. She’s barely been seen this season, but her storyline is so strong it makes it seem like she’s been in every episode. The Sopranos was like that too. Matthew Weiner is very clever that way.

In one scene, the daughter is eating a big ice cream sundae and she pushes it away because she’s had enough. Then she leaves the room, and Big Betty gets on that thing. We’re supposed to see how she’s given up on herself and is miserable. Much misery this season of Mad Men. They’re all just miserable.

This is the new bride of “Don Draper,” the main character of Mad Men, played by John Hamm. Her name is “Megan,” not “Dawn,” She tries to be the best wife ever, but she’s just goofy and puts her foot in her mouth a lot, but who cares? She’s hotter than Summer in August, and she’s from Canada. There’s the tie-in.
